October 2018 Back At It With Day2Day@MFJ

Intro

Thanks for checking out my blog. We have picked up a lot of followers since my last post so I am gonna give you a quick idea as to what you will find here.

My goal is to give an in-depth look as to what my mindset is on growing Moses Family Jerky for the most part, but Moses Family Brands as well. I can’t talk much on advice, but I can give what I believe might be an interesting look into what the entrepreneurial struggle looks like. This is my story in real time.

My gameplan is a simple one. MFJ needs to grow up. It’s actually been our mantra all year long (you’d know this if you’re keeping up with the Sunday Morning Newsletter, Subscribe via our homepage if interested), and we’ve made huge leaps. We shouldn’t try to take on these next 5 with brute force; I believe efficiency is where we need to focus.

Online is a must win!

I wish I could double underline that one^^.  Online stores don’t close, no one has to work the cash register, and in this case, rent is set at a fixed rate of $29.99/month. I don’t believe it can get much more efficient than online. That being said one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is you don’t know what you don’t know.

  1. We must create more online content. I will begin focusing hard on creating more original content (hence my first blog post in a year)
  2. We must become better at paid ads. My ads are somewhat cheap at only about 30 cents a click. The focus here will be to continue to learn more about my target demographic, and why only about 4% of the visitors to MFJerky.com convert into sales.
  3. We must collect the easy money. Now when you click our “Prime Eligible” links we will get an affiliate marketing payment on ANYTHING that you buy on their website as well. Thanks yall! (I’ll be adding links to every post MFJ related and not clicks would be very cool!)

Break into retail

Last time I posted a blog we were just getting approval to wholesale the product in general. Now I am having conversations with the buyers for amazing stores. It is a blast! Brick and mortar retail is definitely not what comes to mind when talking efficiency normally, but in this case, it is a lot more efficient than direct to customer stands (I really do wish I could just hang out at the farmers market all my life, and I might), but to scale I need more. I am currently 0 for 1 with two more conversations going on. Keep your fingers crossed!
